Business: Richardson's Cycles join Fairtrade Campaign

Martin Wall, Dave Murray & Erik Richardson Taste Fairtrade

Richardson Cycles of Elm Road, Leigh on Sea are the latest business to lend their support to the Leigh-on-Sea Fairtrade Town & Southend Borough Campaign.

They now stock Fairtrade Mule Bars for energy and have seen a significant rise in sales since doing so.

Erik Richardson, proprioter said "We wanted to support the campaign and looked around for suitable Fairtrade product. We found Mule Bars with the Fairtrade Mark and now stock the full range. We were pleasently surprised at the increase of sales, and the quality of the bars is frequently commented upon by our customers".

Mule have recently indicated to Richardsons that they are increasing the range of their products and they look forward to stocking these.

Alternativity: Christian Aid Christmas event with Fairtrade Mince Pies

When: Thursday, 26 November at 6pm Where: St Mary's Prittlewell, Southend-on-Sea SS2 6LQ

This year Christian Aid is holding one of their highly successful Christmas events in Southend, at St Mary’s Prittlewell. ‘Alternativity’ will be an evening of music, stories and personal recollections from Bethlehem. Southend High School for Boys and St Mary’s Prittlewell will be performing as well as a local church music group. It promises to be a great evening. Why not encourage your congregation and friends to come along and support the work of Christian Aid?
